D&AD Awards 2016 – Saatchi & Saatchi London celebrate winning two pencils

Saatchi & Saatchi London snapped up two pencils at the prestigious 2016 D&AD Awards for Rekorderlig film ‘Silver Skaters’ and Visa ‘Heart of an Olympian’ campaigns.

‘Silver Skaters’ secured a Yellow Pencil in the Use of Music category. Directed by Andreas Nilsson, the Swedish artist and award-winning director, ‘Silver Skaters’ features a pair of unconventional but spectacularly talented ice skaters and their evangelical coach, as they create an ethereal routine that looks – and sounds - unlike any other.

Embodying all that is 'Beautifully Swedish', the ad drove awareness for Rekorderlig globally, connecting the audience with the skater’s story.

Picking up a Graphite Pencil in Sound Design, Visa’s ‘Heart of an Olympian’ campaign was designed to drive awareness of Visa’s sponsorship and generate excitement ahead of the greatest sporting event on earth, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Directed by Juan Cabral the film follows an athlete preparing to compete and depicts the journey he goes through in the build up to the ultimate moment; the competition. Interspersed with images of a beating heart, the film draws parallels between the heart of an athlete and Visa: Visa is always ready, always performing, whenever you need it.
