Publicis Groupe united on Thursday 26th July at Parliament Hills Athletics track to break the record for the world’s fastest marathon. On a sweltering 36C afternoon, over 150 Publicis Groupe employees ran 100m sprints in a relay, and finished the 26 miles in 1 hour 53 minutes and 20 seconds, breaking the record for the third fastest marathon ever.
The race commenced with Direct Line Group’s Chief Marketing Officer Mark Evans, running the opening 100m and was finished with a collective Publicis Groupe charge for the final leg, spearheaded by Saatchi & Saatchi’s very own Chairman, Richard Huntington.
Now in its second year, the Sprintathon, founded by Mark Evans, raises money for Stand Up To Cancer. Stand Up To Cancer is an annual fundraising campaign that helps develop life-saving cancer research, having raised over £38m since their founding, with 35 trials funded.
